Frequently Asked Questions

We are skilled in how to support somebody with dementia or cognition issues. At Sunnyside, we can instill purpose and joy in all our residents.

We have visiting hours firm from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm. However, we understand the importance of having a loved one visit. Suppose you want to visit the community outside of the usual visiting hours. In that case, we ask that you remain respectful to the general tone in the community so that we can support hours outside that timeframe. Usual visiting hours don’t pertain to somebody whose loved one is experiencing end-of-life, in those cases we support the unique needs of those individuals whenever possible.

We provide total care and, more importantly, display compassion for our residents. The assistance we give to residents to satisfy their daily needs is only part of the care that we provide. The intention we offer to identify the passion and interest of each resident is a labor of love, and the result is our resident experiencing a purpose driven existence.

We take great pride in serving food cooked from scratch.

For some people it feels like a lot to take into consideration, and we are skilled in having that conversation follow a pace that best suits the need of each family. We are prepared to discuss the general needs of any Assisted Living or Memory Care community in California. Along with talking about the personal challenges and what to expect, there is a collection of required documents, some of which must come from your physician. We seek to be a resource for understanding how to make the best choice for your situation.

The interests of our residents direct our activities. Please tell us what you like, and THAT is what we will do!

We are happy to assist in setting (and tracking) your Dr. appts. You are also welcome to make your appointments, keeping in mind our days of transport and other appointments already on the schedule.

It can be challenging for a new resident to be in an unfamiliar setting, and we can appreciate how it is also difficult for their loved ones. Acknowledging the challenge is significant, and validating that is important. If there is a dementia component, you might prepare for a cognitive decline that often comes with an introduction into a new space. In short order, things will level out, and Sunnyside Senior Living Inc will feel as comfortable as your favorite shoes.

Our Care Coordinator and our med-tech team will manage medication/supply refills.

We have a nice outdoor area with a walking path around it. There is also a gazebo where you might like to gather with other residents, family, and friends.

Our goal is to serve known needs without your having to ask for assistance. You can call for service at any time.

We can appreciate feeling uncertain and even fearful. We acknowledge that and will do our best to put those concerns at ease.

Nobody can guarantee to prevent falls; however, our team is vigilant about safety hazards in the community and resident spaces. We check in frequently to ensure that there isn’t an unmet need that triggers an attempt at mobility that they can’t manage.

We believe that supporting the hospice journey of a resident is a tremendous privilege, and we partner very closely with all involved to ensure that the experience is meaningful for all.

Home health services can help increase independence. We use the recommendations made by the home health team to learn how to support the resident on services best.

Our Staff will assist you in making/receiving calls on your personal cell phone. If you don’t have a cell phone, a phone will be provided for your use at the front desk.

You can enjoy the benefit of having Wi-Fi internet access throughout the building.

Your pet is welcome to come and visit you in your room or outside on the grounds. Please alert us in advance before your pet is to visit. Residents or family members must clean up after their pets. Currently, we don’t have pets staying overnight in the community.

We provide laundry services weekly at no additional charge.

We hope you DO have visitors, and we are dedicated to making the experience good for all involved!
