Employee Spotlight: Rosa Lackey – AM/PM Cook
Rosa has been with Sunnyside for 1 year and 2 weeks, and she has filled our community with warmth ever since. She loves baking desserts for our residents—their smiles say it all. When Rosa is around, no one ever goes hungry, and every belly is full of sweetness and comfort.
Her favorite hobbies are Bible study and serving others. If she could travel anywhere, she’d go to Jerusalem. She enjoys spinach salad, listens to worship music on Pandora, and shares her home with her big, fluffy black cat, Oziahs.
The advice she lives by is:
“Stay faithful to God and do not lean on your own understanding.”
Her greatest joy comes from her four daughters and seven grandchildren, and when she was young she dreamed of becoming a school teacher. Someone who inspires her is Pastor Johnson. A special item on her bucket list is simply making it to heaven.
Rosa is sweet, comforting, and a true blessing to Sunnyside.

It is always a blessing for our residents to have their families join them—bringing familiarity, love, and a special sense of holiday spirit that brightens their day. These shared moments of connection remind us why community is at the heart of everything we do at Sunnyside.
