Employee Spotlight: Bertha Garcia

Bertha Garcia has been a dedicated caregiver at Sunnyside for a year and a half. She loves helping people and seeing them happy. Born in Mexico, where she lived for 18 years, Bertha enjoys walks and gardening with her two playful dogs, Shadow and Mateo. Her dream destination is Jerusalem, and her favorite meal is steak with salad. Her guiding advice: “Always work as a team, support one another, and be there for each other.” What makes her happiest is seeing her family together, which she considers a blessing. Bertha’s dedication and reliability make her an invaluable part of Sunnyside. We truly appreciate all she does!

Count Your Caffeine Intake

For many people, caffeine provides an energy boost on sleepy mornings or drowsy afternoons. Medical experts agree that 400 milligrams of caffeine a day is safe for most adults, but consuming too much or at the wrong time can interrupt your sleep or make you feel anxious. During Caffeine Awareness Month in March, refresh yourself on the typical amount of caffeine in an 8-ounce serving of popular beverages:

Coffee: 96 milligrams

Black tea: 47 milligrams

Green tea: 28 milligrams

Energy drink: 29 milligrams

Cola: 22 milligrams

Keep these numbers in mind, and read labels, to adjust your caffeine intake as needed.

’Tis the luck o’ the Irish smilin’ at ya! Wishin’ you the best for a happy St. Patrick’s Day!
