Ximena has been part of the Sunnyside family for 9 months. She finds peace in cleaning and takes pride in creating fresh, welcoming spaces that lift the spirits of our residents. Outside of work, she enjoys crafting beautiful flower arrangements and cooking mouthwatering Mexican dishes. A proud mother of seven, Ximena shares her home with four adorable teacup chihuahuas: Sammy, Bella, Kiwi, and Jerry. She thanks God every day for all of her blessings. A piece of advice that has stayed with her is: “It’s better to live alone in peace than stay in pain for the sake of your kids.” She believes that sometimes the strongest thing you can do as a parent is to walk away from a harmful relationship and show your children what self-respect and healing look like. Ximena’s smile is contagious, and nothing brightens her day more than when someone smiles back. Her life motto is: “Live today as if it were your last.” If you see Ximena around, don’t forget to give her a big smile and a warm thank you for all her hard work!

Happy Mother’s Day
A mother’s love for her child is like nothing else in the world.”—Agatha Christie Mother’s Day is set aside to honor and celebrate mothers, grandmothers and mothers-to-be. Shower the special women in your life with love, hugs and maybe a card or a beautiful bouquet! From all of us, we wish all the moms who call our community home a very happy Mother’s Day!

A Tall Achievement
Fifty years ago this month, Japanese climber Junko Tabei became the first woman to conquer Mount Everest on May 16, 1975, when she led an all-female expedition up the world’s tallest mountain.
Best Friends
“It’s not that diamonds are a girl’s best friend, but it’s your best friends who are your diamonds.” —Gina Barreca

Our residents had a blast during our St. Patrick’s Day Game! We hid four-leaf clovers throughout the community, and those who found them won a special prize! A big CONGRATULATIONS to our lucky winners: From left to right, the smiles say it all — Cora kicked things off on the far left, followed by Alice, Larry, Charlie, and Andrea on the far right. You all brought such joy and festive spirit to the day. We’re so lucky to have residents like you!

We want to give a big thank you to the Turlock Police Department volunteers for joining us at our monthly Resident Council Meeting! They took the time to educate our residents about scams that target seniors and shared valuable tips on how to stay safe. Knowledge is power, and we’re so grateful for their dedication to protecting our community. Thank you for your time, support, and commitment to keeping our residents informed!
