Spring and strong winds often go hand in hand. This is due to shifting atmospheric pressure and temperature changes. According to the World Meteorological Organization, the maximum natural wind gust ever recorded clocked in at 253 mph on April 10, 1996, in Barrow Island, Australia.
Sending You a Springtime Smile!
The season is in full bloom, and so are our best wishes for all of our residents. Here’s to a happy spring full of smiles, laughter and beautiful weather!
Laugh It Up
People have been laughing and pranking each other on April 1 for years … decades … centuries? While the jokes and jests can be very concrete, the history of April Fools’ Day is a little harder to pin down. Some historians trace the practice of pranking back to Roman times, while others land its origins in the Middle Ages. Regardless of the holiday’s history, if pranking is on your list of April 1 to-dos, please ensure that your joke is safe and fun for everyone!

Meet Rosa Reynoso: Med Tech & Caregiver at Sunnyside
Rosa Reynoso has been a dedicated Med Tech and caregiver at Sunnyside for eight months, bringing over 21 years of experience. She finds joy in building meaningful relationships with residents and being a source of support in their daily lives.
Though she holds a master’s degree in accounting from the University of New Mexico, Rosa’s passion for caregiving led her down a different path—one where she makes a difference every day.
On her days off, she enjoys long drives with her husband, often heading toward Reno. Her dream destination is Egypt. She also has a love for Mexican cuisine, especially fajitas. At home, she shares her life with three dogs—Max, Chole, and Xina—and two cats, Bon-Bon and Bella.

Rosa lives by the motto: “Always push forward, no matter how difficult the journey may seem.” Her family, pets, and hard-earned achievements bring her the most joy, and we are lucky to have her as part of the Sunnyside family!
Cora, Andrea, and Rosemary spent a beautiful day at Donnelly Park, enjoying the fresh air, good company, and a few curious ducks along the way. Cora’s warm smile lit up the afternoon as she took in the peaceful surroundings. Andrea, right in the middle, soaked up every moment, happy to be out in nature with friends. And Rosemary, always ready for an adventure, couldn’t resist getting up close to the ducks, greeting them like old friends.

They shared laughs, took in the views, and simply enjoyed being in the moment. It was one of those days that didn’t need anything fancy—just good friends, a beautiful park, and the kind of memories that stick with you.
Here’s to more simple, joyful moments like this!

At Sunnyside, every day is filled with meaningful connections, laughter, and warmth. These moments, both big and small, remind us of the importance of friendship and companionship in our community.

Whether it’s a warm handshake between friends, a peaceful moment of reflection, or the pure delight of laughter, these images capture the spirit of Sunnyside—a place where kindness thrives and every resident is cherished.
Our community isn’t just about living; it’s about belonging. Thank you to our wonderful residents for filling Sunnyside with love and light every single day.
