Nancy Ortiz has been part of the Sunnyside family for a year and a half, bringing warmth, compassion, and dedication to her role as a PM caregiver. What she enjoys most is interacting with residents and treating them as if they were her own family. “The love I give is nothing compared to the love I receive just by spending time with them,” she shares. As a special needs parent, caregiving holds a deeply personal meaning for Nancy. Her nurturing spirit comes naturally, and it’s clear that her heart is fully in the work she does each day.
Outside of Sunnyside, Nancy loves cooking and creating new recipes with her oldest daughter a favorite way for them to bond. Her love for Mexican food reflects her roots, and she’s proudly the cook of her family. If she could travel anywhere, it would be to Mexico to visit her mom and sisters.
One piece of advice that’s stayed with Nancy is: “Never let your past define you—every day is a new opportunity to do better. With God, anything is possible.” What always brings a smile to her face? “Seeing how kindness and love can make an impact on someone’s life.”
